It features a recurring main theme, called the “refrain” or “ritornello,” which alternates with contrasting sections known as “episodes” or “couplets.” The structure is often denoted as ABACADA, where “A” represents the refrain and “B,” “C,” and “D” are the contrasting episodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
